Who is responsible
IsItBumpy, a website run from the Republic of Panama. For any privacy matter: [email protected].
Without an account
You can use the site without signing up. The route and date you search for are only used to request weather and flight data, and we do not store them linked to you. When the page loads, the services that deliver it receive technical data such as your IP address.
With an account
We store your email, the name and country you give us, your language, the date you accepted this policy and, if you sign in with Google, the name and email of that account. We also store what you add: the flights you save (airports, date, airline, flight number, aircraft and their forecast), your travel map (cities and countries) and, if you answer them, your post-flight answers: how afraid you expected to be and how afraid you felt, the turbulence you noticed, what helped and any note you write. Those answers are optional.
Alerts
If you turn on alerts, we store the identifier your browser creates to receive them. Messages go through your browser’s notification service (Google, Apple or Mozilla).
What for
To show your flights and map, let you know if the forecast changes, remind you a few hours before the flight, ask how it went and, using everyone’s answers together without identifying anyone, check whether our forecasts are right. We do not sell your data. The site shows Google AdSense ads: your account data (email, flights, map) is never shared with Google for advertising.
Visit statistics
To know how many people visit the site we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits in aggregate without cookies and without identifying anyone.
Legal basis
Your consent when you create the account and providing the service you ask for. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.
Who else processes it
Supabase (database and sign-in, with servers in the United States), Cloudflare (website hosting and visit statistics), Google (if you sign in with Google, and Google AdSense for ads: see Cookies) and browser notification services. For weather, flights and the map we query Open-Meteo, MET Norway, aviationweather.gov, GDACS, AeroDataBox and OpenStreetMap; they only receive what the query needs (a route, coordinates or the city name you type), never your account. Some data is stored outside your country; these providers apply contractual safeguards for such transfers.
How long
While you have an account. If you delete it, we erase your data within 30 days, except technical backups that are overwritten shortly after.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or take away your data, or object to its use, by writing to [email protected]. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to Panama’s National Authority for Transparency and Access to Information (ANTAI) or to the data protection authority in your country.
Age
Accounts are for people aged 16 and over.
Security
The connection is encrypted and each account can only see its own data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will say so here with the new date and, if the change is significant, we will let you know.
